Title
Simulation of magnon dispersion rations and magnonic transport in 2D magnetic insulators

ABSTRACT: An impressive upscaling of computational power in the past years has taken atomistic and micromagnetic spin simulations to the next level, making it possible to look into magnonic transport on large time- and length scales while allowing nearly atomistic resolution. In this talk, I will demonstrate three examples of finite-temperature spin transport simulations in famous magnetic insulators: A micromagnetic study of hematite, where we propose that a beating mechanism explains a finite dc spin accumulation and its oscillation [1]; An atomistic simulation of the bilayer vdW material CrCl3 and the impact of strain on magnon transport [2]; and an atomistic study of the controversial single-layer vdW magnet CrI3 where either the Kitaev-, or the DM interaction open a topological gap, which we propose can be tunable [3], and might be visible in Hall-like effects in transport simulations.
