Title
Overlooked Spin Phenomena in 2D Systems

ABSTRACT:

In this seminar, I will discuss lesser-known spin-related phenomena in 2D systems, including 2D magnets, graphene, and skyrmion-hosting metallic films, and present some of our recent theoretical findings.

We will explore exchange scattering in chiral spin textures, such as magnetic skyrmions, across weak and strong coupling regimes, highlighting the impact of chirality and topology on the topological Hall effect. Additionally, we will address spin swapping phenomena.

I will also present our latest research on 2D chromium trihalide magnets interfaced with graphene, demonstrating their potential as hosts for strongly correlated electron gases. Moreover, I will discuss recent discoveries related to spin-light coupling in graphene-like materials with induced spin-orbit coupling, particularly the intriguing possibility of resonant terahertz absorption enhancement due to the coupled dynamics of spin and pseudospin.
