Title
Exploring spin at unconventional hybrid interfaces

ABSTRACTControlled manipulation of a system allows for systematic investigation of the underlying interactions and phenomena. Simultaneously, tunability also enables the development of novel materials systems and devices customized for specific applications. Here, we focus on materials systems that conventionally have not been used as active components in spintronic devices, specifically, hybrid molecule-magnetic interfaces. Molecules offer a unique way of controlling and varying the structure at the interface making it possible to precisely tune the underlying interactions and hybridization at the interface by molecular design. In this talk, we will explore tuning spin injection into molecules by molecular design and investigate the role of structural chirality on the hybrid interface. In the final part, we will focus on hybridization effects between the single-molecule magnets and metal surfaces with the ultimate goal of functionalizing their quantum character in a collective response.
